May Meets

The Last Thursday of the month rolls around and the Hive collective meets to hash, rehash and rerehash policy, minutia and direction.
It's a motley crew that gathers and takes time out of their other lives, but the work is necessary to keep the ship afloat and moving in the positive.

Peace

Vegan Pork Roll Festival 2015

The One True Luncheon Meat
Gathering Greens from the Garden
bringing a Memoriable Meal.

Props to Graham for working outside the box and creating a credible event , faithful to Memorial day.
As much of the area celebrated with slaughtered swine sweepings, and jingoistic jargon, The Gandhi Garden provided sanctuary and a meal for anyone who stopped by.
The greens were picked that morning, stewed ,stirred and served for all.

But the main attraction was more subtle and sustainable, as the Garden provides a space for people to engage in conversation and hopefully understanding.

For wouldn't it be memorable if we could celebrate a day when we didn't send young people to die for our inability to work out issues peacably?

So in an effort to be the change we wish to see in the world, please come down and see the change that is possible.

Hat bench w Mylar roof

This is the piece we plan on installing in front of the bust of Einstein by Monument drive.
It will have a total of five Trenton makes planks , providing an almost "bed" like seating area.
The Mylar roof is courtesy of Terracycle , the material itself will most likely photodegrade  within a few years, and we are working on techniques to mitigate or curtail .
In the meantime, these structures are being installed around Princeton and Trenton to get some real world exposure, engage the community to test and provide feedback .The basic gist is to explore out of the box designs, materials and concepts in the hope of creating safe ,beautiful and available structures that will provide safe , attractive and affordable shelter and community.
